Intermountain Student Outdoor Leadership Symposium

about ISOLS

The Intermountain Student Outdoor Leadership Symposium began in April 2003 when University of Utah Outdoor Adventure program managers returned from the Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education (AORE) conference and decided the intermountain schools should create something that was more relevant to students throughout the region.

The goal was to create a conference for the students, by the students that kept costs manageable so all students could be provided learning opportunities. From there the first ISOLS conference, hosted at the University of Utah, was created. It has been hosted by several universities since then: Weber State University, University of Wyoming, Southern Utah University.

Southern Utah University is ready to bring the intermountain region to southern Utah for ISOLS 2019.

Why Attend?

ISOLS provides unique opportunities for students interested in a wide range of outdoor experiences and leadership. Through discussions, clinics, and workshops participants will gain valuable insight in outdoor leadership, practice new technical skills, and experience diverse forms of networking. This will be a unique opportunity for students throughout the intermountain region to meet, mingle, and learn from one another. Any student with a passion for outdoor leadership is encouraged to join us.
